3D ultrasound
We are happy to announce that we now have 3D ultrasound at our Wheat Ridge office location. We have received numerous requests for 3D “baby photographs”. The following information will be helpful as you schedule your 3D ultrasound.
INFORMATION ON 3D OB ULTRASOUND
1) Our primary goal when performing your ultrasound is to assess the health of you and your baby. Therefore, a diagnostic ultrasound must be completed prior to the 3D ultrasound. Medically indicated ultrasounds are paid for by your insurance company, however, if there is no medical indication you will be responsible for the cost of the ultrasound. The best time to schedule a diagnostic ultrasound is between 20 and 24 weeks of a pregnancy.
2) You may schedule a 3D ultrasound anytime during the week at the Wheat Ridge location. The cost of a 3D ultrasound is $185.00 to be paid in advance. The best time to schedule a 3D ultrasound is between 24 and 28 weeks of a pregnancy. You can schedule later in a pregnancy, however, we have found the pictures may not be quite as clear as the baby is growing quickly and “filling up” the uterus.
3) Lastly, we will attempt to obtain pictures of your baby’s face but the fetal position may interfere with obtaining a clear picture. We will always try our best but must stop after the allotted appointment time.
