Thomas Sweeney, M.D.
Dr. Sweeney began a solo private practice in WheatRidge in 1986, which grew to become Westside Women’s Care. He has been delivering babies and performing surgery at Lutheran Medical Center his entire career.
He was born and raised in Colorado, attended Regis High School, met his wife at CSU, graduated from Creighton University, and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver. He is board certified and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Sweeney is past chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and continues to serve on committees at Lutheran Medical Center. Dr. Sweeney has been voted one of Denver’s best OB/GYN’s in 5280’s Top Doctors.
Dr. Sweeney’s passion is his practice, wife, four children, and ten grandchildren. They love to ski, ride road and mountain bikes, and spend as much time as possible with their children and grandchildren.
Dr. Sweeney loves OB and delivering babies. He has a passion for helping women deliver vaginally, but when needed, making cesarean sections “family centered.” By making the delivery room atmosphere comfortable and relaxed, delaying cord clamping, and encouraging “skin-to-skin” contact, a cesarean birth becomes a more natural experience.
His gynecologic interests are in all aspects of women’s health, minimally invasive surgery, laproscopic surgery and vaginal hysterectomies. His philosophy is to engage patients in their health care, and to relieve pain and bleeding problems, so they can have the highest quality of life possible.
Lindsay Eun, M.D.
Dr. Eun is originally from Gulf Breeze, Florida, and graduated from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, with a degree in Spanish. She did her medical school training at the Medical College of Georgia, where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. She then proceeded to complete her OB/Gyn residency training at the University of Colorado in 2010, and has been working at Westside Women’s Care since.
Dr. Eun is married with two daughters, and in her free time, she enjoys golf, yoga, snowboarding, reading, and traveling.
Dr. Eun is a board-certified OB/Gyn and a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. While she enjoys both obstetrics and gynecology, her particular interests include adolescent medicine, complicated obstetric issues, and minimally-invasive gynecologic procedures. She speaks Spanish fluently.
She initially entered OB/Gyn because of the excitement of delivering babies. She also loved that women’s health provided such a wide variety of patient interactions in a typical day – from a teenager struggling with swim practice due to heavy periods, or a pregnant patient with depression, or a new mom with a breast infection, or a 50-year old battling menopausal symptoms, to a 70-year old with urinary incontinence. She is kind and compassionate as she helps women navigate the dramatic changes of womanhood.
Norine Taylor, MSN, CNM, graduated for the University of Colorado Health Science Center in 1994 and has been with Westside Women’s Care since then. Norine believes that the primary goal in pregnancy is a healthy baby and a healthy mom, but also a positive birth experience. Norine feels the job of the midwife is to help pregnant women and their families to meet these goals. Norine and her husband Brian enjoy biking, hiking and keeping up with their 3 grown children as they are starting their careers.
Jules Javernick, MSN, CNM, graduated from the University of Colorado Health Science Center. She joined Westside Women’s Care in 1999. Jules believes that by working in collaboration with women and their families, pregnancy and birth can be a positive, empowering experience. Helping women have their ideal birth experience is her goal. Jules and her husband Keith enjoy the active lifestyle that Colorado provides. You may see Jules out jogging as you drive around town.
Patti McHardy, CNM, has been a Nurse-Midwife for over twenty years and has worked in several different practice settings along the way. Most recently, she worked in the public health sector for Broomfield Health and Human Services as the Nurse Administrator. Her undergraduate nursing degree is from Louisiana State University and she graduated from the University of Colorado with a Masters in Science in Maternal Child Health/Nurse-Midwifery.
Patti is delighted to return to practicing nurse-midwifery. She has a tremendous awe for pregnancy and motherhood and feels that the first hours after birth are a unique, special time for families. And of course, she loves the babies! She has always enjoyed working with teens and is active in two local coalitions to help prevent teen pregnancy.
Patti grew up in New Orleans but has lived in Colorado for most of her adult life. Her daughter, Raleigh, attends LSU and son, Taylor, attends CU. She and her husband, Dan, and daughter, Sydney, live in Broomfield and enjoy hiking, gardening, reading and just hanging out.
Julie Stretz RN, MS, WHNP-BC, CNM, joined the midwife team at Westside in 2012. This year marks the 20th year of hernursing career. After working for several years in women’s health nursing with a background that includes postpartum, labor and delivery, and infertility nursing care, she graduated with my Master’s degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Colorado in 2012, and then continued on to complete her Post Master’s certification as a nurse midwife.
Julie believes every woman has a story to tell. As women, we are united by a common thread, that being the importance of relationships in our lives, and the significance the birth of our children plays in our individual stories. Years of bedside nursing left her wanting more consistency and follow through with patients. Midwifery care allows the best of all worlds. It is challenging intellectually and professionally, and allows her to establish a relationship with patients.
Julie strives to help families achieve their ideal birth experience, while maintaining the safety of both mom and baby, recognizing that the birth of each child is an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience, and yet only the beginning of the journey into parenthood.
She is passionate about education and continues to teach fetal monitoring and guest lecture at a regional labor and delivery nursing course for RNs new to OB. When not in the office or delivering babies, Julie devotes time to her own family; her husband of 18 years and two children (delivered by Norine, Dr. Cowles, and Dr. Saunders). She enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, fishing, and most of all being a karate and football mom!
Pam Weitzel, MSN, CNM, has been a nurse for 20 years and has a strong commitment to Women’s Health. She graduated from Regis University in 2012 with a Master’s in Nursing and quickly realized that leaving patient care was not going to work for her. She continued her educational journey at the University of Colorado and graduated in 2014 with a Post Master’s certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Pam believes that every woman has a unique health care journey and enjoys supporting women through that journey. She believes in physiologic birth and the woman’s ability to give birth in a way that is meaningful to her and her family. Having had her two children delivered by a Midwife (Norine!), Pam believes in the philosophy of midwifery and its results.
When she is not at work, Pam enjoys spending time with her family. They like to go camping and ATV riding. Beyond that, Pam takes pleasure in reading, baking, cooking and watching her children’s athletic events.

Sue Babcock, RN, CNP, entered Women's Health as a labor and delivery nurse. She soon fell in love with the beauty of pregnancy and birth, with all it's moments of excitement, struggle, and sometimes fear and sadness. The power and needs of women impressed Sue and pushed her on to become a Women's Health NP. Sue sees women as the "gatekeepers" of their family's health and healthcare. As her practice matured, she made it her goal to help women find their way through the sometimes tough decisions about sexuality, planning for a family, and negotiating their way through the childbearing years. Sue loves to see women become fully empowered, embracing life after periods are over.
